Legacy Giving
For an in-depth look at how your legacy gift could benefit MMLT, we encourage you to read our Impact Report.
Legacy Giving
MMLT has established a permanent Endowment Fund that provides an annual disbursement to MMLT that is intended to cover the operating and maintenance costs of our properties. What an incredible way to leave a legacy gift – helping to ensure that MMLT has the financial capacity to care for its lands in perpetuity. Whether you can give a living legacy or remember MMLT in your will, you will help build a solid conservation future for your family and community. These planned gifts offer many tax advantages as well.
- Living Legacy Gift:
- Gift to MMLT’s Sustainability Fund
- Gift of Securities
- Charitable Gift Annuities
- Gift of Proceeds from RRSPs and RRIFs
- Legacy Gift:
- Bequest of cash or property in will
- Gift of Life Insurance
- Gift of Charitable Remainder Trusts and Gifts of Residual Interest
If any of these options interest you, please contact the MMLT office at 613-253-2722 or email [email protected] to learn more. You will also need to consult with your lawyer or financial advisor before making a gift of this nature.
Testimonial – Kris and Rob Riendeau
As dedicated supporters of the Mississippi Madawaska Land Trust (MMLT), we have chosen to include a donation to this remarkable organization in our will. MMLT’s commitment to conserving ecologically sensitive lands ensures that the natural beauty and biodiversity of our region are preserved for future generations.
By engaging with our lawyer and financial planner, we’ve discovered that planned giving not only supports vital conservation efforts but also offers significant tax benefits. With proper planning, a substantial portion of such a donation can be deducted, making it a financially sound decision as well as a philanthropic one.
We encourage others to consider this meaningful way of contributing to the preservation of our natural heritage. Legacy giving can have a lasting impact on the environment, ensuring that organizations like MMLT continue their essential work in protecting our critical ecosystems.
